
The History of Polo Shirts
The history of polo shirts dates back to the 7th century when the name of the garment itself was the “Pulu”, originating from Persia. It was a game in which men on horseback used to hit wooden balls with sticks. The attire that those horse riders wore is not known, but as this game came to India, during the British occupation, British players used to wear a long sleeved, button down shirt to take part in this sport. Then, in the mid-18th century a tennis star, Rene Lacoste, made a short sleeve version of the earlier polo
